The Chester Healthcare Foundation is a private tax-exempt (501-c-4) foundation approved by the Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.).
The Chester Healthcare Foundation's mission is to support programs, projects, and/or services of prevention and education which enhance, improve, and/or promote the health and wellness with measurable outcomes of the citizens of Chester County.
Beneficiaries of the grants must be located in Chester County and/or provide programs and services to Chester County residents. The Foundation will give priority to grant applicants for programs of community service which provide ongoing support. The Foundation seeks to make grants that will have a significant and lasting impact on the community and which can provide measurable outcomes in health improvement. Potential grantees are encouraged to propose creative and innovative collaborations and partnerships that respond to community needs. Proposals should emphasize preventative healthcare and creative ways of solving health and wellness concerns.
The Foundation's Funding Guidelines stipulate awards can be granted only to organizations and institutions exempt from federal taxation under Section 501-c-3 of the Internal Revenue Code; all grants will be in accordance with the Foundation's status as a tax-exempt 501-c-4 organization.
The Chester Healthcare Foundation does not award grants to or for individuals, indigent care, programs or services generally considered to be the role of government, projects of organizations that primarily benefit their own members, or for legislative lobbying or other political purposes.
The present Foundation Board Officers are Daniel C. Peach of Great Falls as Chairman, John H. Agee of Richburg as Vice Chairman, and Arthur Underwood of Chester as Secretary. Other Board Members currently are Mrs. Rita Bailey of Chester, Mrs. Edie Cantrell of Lowrys, Mr. Ralph Garris of Great Falls, Dr. James Reinhardt of Edgemoor, Dr. Jerry Robinson of Chester, and Ms. Deloris Thomas of Chester.
Chester Healthcare Foundation staff include Wm. H. (Bill) Bundy as President and CEO and as Business Manager of the Chester County Hospital Board, and Melanie Robertson as Administrative Assistasnt.
